The maps
The maps rethink traditional cartography in volume.
The world and the countries that make it up are the raw material of Charlotte's maps, a material that has been freed up and shaped by the artist.
Reinvented dioramas, the compositions question the notion of territory, borders and cultural heritage, which they narrate in a deliberately anachronistic way. The world is then documented in a utopia where the encyclopaedic and the vernacular, history and legend, reality and fantasy, the lived and the dreamed cohabit.
